Family Camp Week 2 2022: Dr. Martin Mittlelstadt

Martin Mittelstadt began teaching at EU in 2000. He teaches New Testament, Pentecostal Theology and Spiritual Formation. His most recent publications include “Canadian Pentecostal Reader: The First Generation of Pentecostal Voices in Canada. 1907-1925” (co-authored, 2021); “Mennocostals” (co-edited, 2019); and Receiving Scripture in the Pentecostal Tradition (co-edited, 2021).

Mittelstadt lives in the Gospels and Acts. His love for all things Lukan (Luke-Acts) began with his doctoral dissertation entitled “Spirit and Suffering in Luke-Acts” (T&T Clark, 2004) and remains alive to this day. His “Reading Luke-Acts in the Pentecostal Tradition” (CPT Press, 2010) received the 2011 Book of the Year Award from the Foundation for Pentecostal Scholarship. Other publications include books and articles on Pentecostalism, hermeneutics, pacifism, forgiveness, ecumenism, and more.

He serves as the immediate Past President for the Society of Pentecostal Studies (www.sps-usa.org). He teaches annually in his native Canada, and other seminaries around the world. In Springfield, he co-chairs the local Catholic/Pentecostal Dialogue, and is a member of “Missourians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty.” He and his wife Evelyn have three children (Rachel [and Ben Bell], Sarah, and Andrew). Mittelstadt believes spare time should be devoted primarily to hockey (Canada’s national religion).

Family Camp Week 2 2022: Josh Hageman

Josh is the Lead Pastor at Kingsview Community Church in Hamilton, Ontario. He is married to Jordan, they have 3 goons, and love living in the community they pastor. Josh’s desire is to be more like Jesus, who was a carpenter. Josh buys, sells, refinishes, and collects mid-century modern furniture.
